Woman accused of driving under influence of drugs with child in car

Farmington, NY   A Canandaigua woman is facing child endangerment charges, accused of driving under the influence of narcotics with her child in the car.

Police say Cayleigh Delforte, 28, rear-ended another car at the Canandaigua Toll Plaza of I-90 on Monday just after 6 p.m.

Police say Delforte failed field sobriety tests and was arrested at the scene.
Her 5-year-old son  was released from the scene and turned over to a family friend.

Delforte was charged with the following: 

  • Aggravated DWI Child Passenger Under 16; Class E Felony
  • DWAI Drugs 1 Prior Conviction; Class E Felony
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child; Class A Misdemeanor 

Delforte is being held in the Ontario County Jail.

She will appear in the City of Canandaigua Court on Tuesday.
