United Way surpasses fundraising goal

Rochester, N.Y. -- The United Way of Rochester passed its campaign goal for 2014, thanks to the generosity of the local community.

United Way set a goal of $25.5 million earlier this year and was able to raise a few thousand dollars beyond that mark.

Donors were honored at a campaign event Thursday morning.

United Way is currently in the second year of a three-year funding cycle as part of the organization's Blueprint for Change.

Last year, $26,640,254 was raised.
