Bill introduced to fund school project

Rochester, N.Y. --   Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren is voicing her concern about Phase 2 of the Rochester City School District's modernization project.

Warren and City Council President Loretta Scott sent a letter to local lawmakers urging them to amend the bill that would fund $435 million  for this phase of the project.

13WHAM News has learned the FBI is looking into the first phase of the modernization project.

Warren says The City of Rochester strongly opposes the current bill because it does not protect public dollars.

The Rochester City School District's facilities modernization project involves at least $1.2 billion in taxpayer funds and it could span two decades before it is all complete.

Sen. Joseph Robach, R-Greece introduced the bill on Monday.
