RBA president expects Duffy to reapply

Rochester, N.Y. -- The head of the Rochester Business Alliance, Sandy Parker, said she expects Lt. Gov. Bob Duffy to reapply for her job.

Parker retires at the end of this year, and Duffy has announced that he won't run for re-election.

Last fall, Duffy interviewed for the top job at the RBA but later pulled himself out of the running after the news went public.

"I think he said it was a life decision because he wanted to return to Rochester and spend more time in Rochester," Parker said. "So this position is obviously in Rochester and certainly ... helps the community."

Parker said Duffy would be an excellent candidate, but she does not make the decision on who will be the next RBA president. That decision is up to a search committee.

The RBA will name her successor at the end of this year.
