Police: Canandaigua man broke into cars, homes

Canandaigua, N.Y. Canandaigua Police arrested a man Tuesday after he allegedly broke into two homes earlier in the week and lied to police about it.

Officers said David Fivie, 23, of Canandaigua, entered two residences in the early morning hours June 8 and stole property. Fivie is also accused of stealing property from several unlocked cars in the area of West Avenue and West Gibson Street on June 8.

Police said Fivie also gave police a false written statement during the course of the investigation.

Fivie has been remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash, $30,000 bond.
