Local missing woman's body found?

Geneseo, N.Y. - A body was found Saturday morning in a Geneseo river gorge, not far from where a woman who went missing three months ago was last seen.

Search crews, with some members from a special unit in North Carolina, searched the Genesee River in Geneseo, and discovered a body.

The big question: whether it's the body of Cora Kalous, the missing 37-year-old.

"It's horrible if that is she," said Tracy Myers, a neighbor of Kalous. "But at least it would put her friends and family at ease."

Kalous went missing in early March. The intention of Saturday's search - was to find her.

"Up until this point, the weather didn't allow us to get in on the river," said Officer Jeffrey Szcezesniak of the Geneseo Police Department. "Finally the river and weather conditions were okay enough to do that search today."

Investigators say Kalous was last seen walking into the forest behind her home. Police say she was highly intoxicated at the time and taking medication.

Authorities tell 13WHAM that it's not clear the body is that of Kalous. The medical examiner's office will make that decision following an autopsy and DNA testing.
