Peaches, nectarines, plums recalled

Wegman's announced Monday it is recalling varieties of nectarines, plums and peaches.

Wegmans said the fruit was supplied by California-based Wawona Packing Company.

It is a voluntary recall after routine testing showed potential contamination with listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Customers who purchased the recalled products between June 1 and July 20, should throw the item out and visit their local store for a full refund.

Customers can also contact Wawona by calling 1-888-232-9912 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
