Catholic parishes merging in Greece

Greece, N.Y. - Two Roman Catholic parishes in Greece will be merging later this month.

The Catholic Courier reports that Holy Name of Jesus will become part of Saint Charles Borromeo effective July 14.

Declining church attendance at Holy Name was cited as one of the reasons for the merger.

For now, the Holy Name building will remain open for weddings, funerals and other special events.
