Webster Central School District has named an interim superintendent.
Carmen Gumina will serve as interim superintendent effective August 1.
The Webster Board of Education made the announcement Tuesday on the districts website.
Gumina has served the Webster Central School District for 25 years as a teacher, principal of State Road Elementary School, and since 2009 as deputy superintendent for the district.
Mr. Guminas breadth of experience as an educator and administrator will be invaluable as Webster conducts its search for a permanent superintendent. His commitment to students and support of staff will ensure the district continues on its path to excellence throughout this process, said Mike Suffoleto, Webster Board of Education President.
Gumina replaces Adele Bovard, who has accepted a position as deputy superintendent for administration at the Rochester City School District.
The Board of Education will conduct a comprehensive search for a permanent superintendent over the next several months.
The Board expects to have a permanent superintendent in place by July 1, 2015.
Carmen Gumina is a Monroe County Legislator, representing the 8th District, serving a majority of the Town and all of the Village of Webster.
