Wednesday’s National News Briefing

Straight-line winds are being blamed for the death of a child in Maryland. A child was killed and eight were injured at a summer camp. They were running for cover when high winds brought a tree limb down on them.

President Obama was in Texas Wednesday. His trip to Dallas was to attend Democratic fundraisers but he met with one of his harshest critics, Governor Rick Perry, to discuss the wave of children crossing the border from Central America. Perry puts the blame for the immigration crisis on the presidents shoulders.

President Obama also visited Denver Wednesday, where smoking marijuana is legal. He met with Colorados Governor at a pizza joint. They played pool and had a glass of beer with locals. He was even offered a joint but passed.

A zookeeper in Australia had only minor injuries after a crocodile attack. The man was feeding the croc when it lashed out and bit his hand. He was taken to the hospital where he only needed stitches for bite marks on his hand.

A pilot for Frontier Airlines ordered pizza for passengers after his flight was grounded by a storm. Passengers enjoyed Dominos while waiting on the tarmac for nearly two hours. Each row was given their own pizza.
