Bids in for the Bills

Buffalo, N.Y. - The identity of the Buffalo Bills' new owner is expected to be revealed by October.

Bids for the team were due Tuesday afternoon.

The Buffalo News is reporting that Paychex founder Tom Golisano did not bid but believes he is still eligible. Sources told the paper that Golisano could place a bid this week by contacting the investment bankers who are handling the sale.

Only three bids were submitted. They came from Sabres owner Terry Pegula, billionaire Donald Trump and a group including musician Jon Bon Jovi.

The New York Post reported that Pegula bid about $1.3 billion for the team. Singer Jon Bon Jovi reportedly bid $1.2 billion.

The Bills Trust will review the bids and select a certain number to move forward in the process.

The selected bidder must be approved by the NFL.
