United Way President announces retirement

The President & CEO of United Way of Greater Rochester is retiring.

Peter Carpino will retire June 30, 2015.

A 13-member committee will conduct a national search for the organizations next leader.

The new CEO will begin no later than May 1, 2015.

"Peter Carpino has been a strong leader for our United Way and the entire Rochester community, said Colleen Wegman, United Way Board Chair.  We are so grateful for his many contributions and leadership through challenging times over the last decade and are also looking forward to what the future holds as we move the organization forward."

In June, United Way announced its annual campaign raised $25.5 million from more than 70,000 local donors.
