Teacher accused of driving drunk with kids

Geneseo, N.Y. - An Avon woman, arrested under Leandra's Law, is a Special Education teacher in the Mount Morris Central School District.

Carolyn Garger, 48, is charged with aggravated DWI for having a BAC of .19.

Livingston County Sheriff's Deputies said Garger was involved in an accident and left the scene.

Investigators said her vehicle was located a short time later in a ditch on Route 20A.

Deputies said Garger had three children under the age of 15 in the car.

She is facing three charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

Garger has worked at the Mount Morris Central School District since 1988.

She was also a track coach in Mt. Morris for over 15 years.

Garger was named Section Five Coach of the year in Cross Country in 1998 and 1999.

She was also named Livingston County Cross Country Coach of the year in 1999.

School officials say they are reaching out to the Livingston County Sheriff's Office before deciding what action to take.
