Theme park workers arrested

Three popular Orlando theme parks are facing sex allegations against employees.

A six-month investigation by CNN revealed that 35 staffers from Walt Disney World, five from Universal Studios Orlando and two from SeaWorld Orlando have been arrested in child sex stings or for child porn charges.

The arrests date back to 2006.

So far, a total of 32 have been convicted, with the remaining cases pending.

Two cases, which were for possession of child pornography, occurred on Disney property, according to police reports.

Most of those featured in the CNN report allegedly found their potential targets through the Internet and child pornography websites.

None of the cases involved children or teenagers visiting the parks.

Some of the suspects are married.  Others have worked with children for years. Even one pastor was named.

Many were arrested when they went to meet someone who they thought was an underage child, but in actuality was a detective working with law enforcement.

Neither representatives at Disney, SeaWorld nor Universal Studios could be reached late Monday. Orlando police press representatives also could not be reached.

Disney defended its employee pre-screening process to CNN.

We have extensive measures in place, including pre-employment and ongoing criminal background checks and computer monitoring and firewalls, Disney spokeswoman Jacquee Wahler said in a statement The numbers reported by CNN represent one one-hundredth of one percent of the 300,000 people we have employed during this time period.
