RPD trained to reduce heroin overdoses

Rochester police are being trained to use a drug that could reverse overdoses from heroin and other opioids.

More than 50 officers were trained Tuesday on how to use the nasal spray Naloxone.

In June, state officials pushed to get the drug to all first responders.

New York also launched an awareness and support campaign to battle heroin use on SUNY campuses.
