Indianapolis, IN - A 3-year-old boy became the youngest sheriff's deputy in Indiana.
Wyatt Schmaltz was sworn in Wednesday morning by the Huffington County sheriff.
Schmaltz is currently battling stage 4 neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer.
Huntington County Sheriff Terry Stoffel presented Wyatt with a custom-made sheriff's uniform, a medal and plaque for his bravery.
Sheriff Stoffel said Wyatt's sheriff status is an official designation, not an honorary title.
