Kerry pushes for Middle East ceasefire

Washington U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry traveled to Egypt Monday to push for a ceasefire in the Middle East.

Israeli forces say theyve destroyed several tunnels used by militants to smuggle weapons and facilitate attacks in Israel.

The Gaza Health Ministry said that more than 500 Palestinians have been killed in continuing fighting and the United Nations estimates about 70 percent of those were civilians.

We have no war with the people of Gaza. Once again today, Israel agreed to a ceasefire. The third time that Israel accepted and Hamas rejected a humanitarian ceasefire, said Ron Prosor, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations.

Two U.S. citizens were among 13 IDF soldiers killed over the weekend.
