RFD gets $328K for new equipment

Rochester, N.Y. More than $328,000 in federal funding will go toward purchasing new equipment for the Rochester Fire Department.

New York Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand made the announcement Thursday.

The funding was allocated through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

The $328,500 will be used to purchase a new hands-on training system for firefighters.

These funds will allow our local heroes to continue their important work of keeping the community safe, said Senator Schumer.
