Monroe County, N.Y. Cases of Lyme disease are being reported in Monroe County.

The Monroe County Health Department said there are 18 confirmed cases so far this year.

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection transmitted through tick bites.

The health department will be placing signs in parks making people aware of the dangers of ticks.
