'Lyft' rides cleared for Rochester, Buffalo
Rochester, N.Y. - You'll be seeing plenty of pink mustaches on the fronts of cars in our area - at least for now.
A judge ruled this week that the ride-sharing service Lyft can continue to operate in the Rochester and Buffalo areas, but will not be allowed to launch in New York City yet.
The smartphone app allows people to drive their own cars and pick others up through requests.
New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said that Lyft is violating licensing and insurance laws.
A hearing is set for Friday to discuss the issue.
