Honeoye Falls hit hard by storm

Honeoye Falls, N.Y. - Within a minute, the passing storm damaged one Honeoye Falls neighborhood.

Trees that stood for decades, came crashing down Tuesday evening on Monroe Street.

13WHAM News spoke with Gene Gordon, a science teacher and Honeoye Falls resident.

"All of the sudden out of nowhere the winds started to go sideways and it just basically ripped everything sideways, water filled up our houses from the windows. It was amazing watching this microburst."

On Main Street, the damage jumped from one side of the street to the other. It's where multiple 911 callers reported what looked like a funnel cloud.

So many people called 911 to report damage, the lines were busy.

"It happened it one minute it went from bad thunder to just crazy-- that's the only way to describe it," said Kathy Lenahan.
