Healthy Hero camp underway

Rochester, N.Y. Students from eight Rochester city schools are keeping their bodies and minds active at summer camp at MCC.

The five week long be a healthy hero camp is funded by a $500,000 grant from the Greater Rochester Health Foundation.

The program is meant to help kids from ages 6 to 13 keep up a healthy lifestyle.

Campers get 20 hours of fitness activities each week and 10 hours of reading and math help.

Mayor Lovely Warren joined campers in their Zumba class on Monday.

This camp is just one example of the way Rochestarians look out for one another and care about the future of our city, Mayor Warren said.

The camp costs just $25 for parents and busing, breakfasts and lunches are provided.
