Emmy nominations announced Thursday

Los Angeles - Thursday is a big day in Hollywood - the nominees for the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards will be revealed.

Among this year's expected contenders is AMC's "Breaking Bad." Although the show, about a chemistry teacher-turned-drug dealer ended its run last year, it is still eligible for this year's awards.

Its lead actor, Bryan Cranston, is also expected to earn a nomination for Best Actor.

"Bad" features a slew of other possible contenders. Among them are fantasy series "Game of Thrones" and "True Detective" - which is also expected to net acting nominations for stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

As for comedy, the reigning champion "Modern Family" is expected to go up against returning nominees "Veep" and "The Big Bang Theory." Also expected to be nominated is Netflix's "Orange is the New Black" - which switched to the comedy category after entering the drama race last year.

You can catch the nominations Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. on 13WHAM.
