Area athletes visit Golisano Children’s Hospital

Rochester, N.Y. The best senior football players and cheerleaders from Section V visited with some young patients at Golisano Childrens Hospital Wednesday.

They were there to meet and play with kids who they play for during the Eddie Meath All-Star Game.

A lot of our players have never seen kids fighting cancer and theyre overwhelmed, says Dick Cerone, creator of the Eddie Meath event. The way they act with the kids in unbelievable.

When I see the kids, and their giant smile, they are so happy to meet us and were so happy to meet them, says Joseph Foster, a football player.

The rivalry game has raised more than $150,000 for sick and injured kids over the last 30 years.

This years game will take place July 5.
