Shooting on Locust Street

Rochester, N.Y. - A shooting incident on Locust Street around 9:40 a.m. Sunday sent one Rochester man to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the Rochester Police Department.

Rochester Police Department officers responded to Locust Street for the shooting, but the 21-year-old victim was a passenger in a car that was involved in an accident at the intersection of Lake and Lexington avenues shortly after the shooting, investigators said.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, police said.

According to police, the driver of the other car involved in the accident was also taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
