Foodlink given large donation

First Niagara donated $30,000 to Foodlink Thursday.

Debbie Evans, the President of the Food Pantry in Irondequoit, hopes other local companies will follow the bank’s example.

“While we can agree every can good or box of pasta is a blessing, so is every dollar,” says Evans. “When businesses make the decision to donate to Foodlink, they’re also donating to smaller agencies like ours.

Foodlink is working on two new initiatives. The Freshwise Kitchen on Joseph Avenue will be moving to the Foodlink Warehouse on Mt. Read.

There are also plans to create a nutrition education center.
