Remembering victim of fatal motorcycle crash

Wayne County, N.Y. – Family members of the woman involved in the fatal motorcycle crash in Williamson Friday afternoon are coping with their loss.

State Police said Doreen Kordzikowski, 60, of Palmyra didn’t slow down in time and hit the vehicle in front of her on Route 104, then went into the opposite lane where she was struck by oncoming traffic.

Her husband Ron Macera said, “It’s very difficult to get over a sudden loss like this.”

He said his wife injured her leg not too long ago and took a short break from riding her motorcycle. “She had really just gotten back maybe two weeks before the accident,” he said.

The crash has still left Macera in disbelief because his wife has more than a dozen years' experience on a motorcycle.

“She rides a lot by herself,” said Macera. “She never had any kind of accident, anywhere near like this.”

State Police say no charges have been filed, and this appears to be an accident.

“She was on her way to see me and this happened,” said Kordzikowski’s older sister Gale. “She's traveled that road many times and this is just an unfortunate, unfortunate accident.”

Gale told 13WHAM Kordzikowski was the baby in the family growing up, and till this day remained a big kid at heart.

“She was a loving, giving person. She had a generous heart,” said Gale. “We talked every day at least twice a day and I'm just already missing her.”

Funeral arrangements have been made for 4pm Thursday at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home in Webster.
