Slaughter given healthcare award

Congresswoman Louise Slaughter was given the Community Health Advocate Award Friday for her work to expand healthcare coverage.

The National Association of Community Health Centers gives the award to people who work to improve access to affordable primary health care for the uninsured in our area.

“Rochester has been such a leader, not only in medical breakthroughs and medical science, but also in making medicine accessible,” says Slaughter.

Slaughter added that hospitals, across the country, are modeling their healthcare distribution after hospitals here in Rochester.
