Man faces 12 years in prison for crime spree

An Ogden man could spend the next 12 years in prison after going on a crime spree back in January.

Vincenzo Zagari, 22, pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of attempted robbery and one count of menacing a police officer.

Zagari was accused of stealing a car in Ogden and shoplifting at the Pittsford Wegmans.

Police say Zagari then attempted a car jacking in the Wegmans parking lot and attacked Monroe County Sheriffs Deputy Bridget Davis with a hammer.

Zagari was shot several times by Deputy Davis.

Investigators say Zagari also tried to rob a bank in Spencerport a day earlier.

Investigators say Zagari had cocaine and heroin on him at the time.
