Common Core results released

Rochester, N.Y. – Common Core test results from the spring were released Thursday.

For the Rochester School District, the results were up slightly but still lowest out of the big five city school districts.

29 percent scored at or above level two in Math. At the level students are assumed to be “on track” to graduate.

For English, just over 30 percent scored at level two or above.

“The preliminary results in Math and Language Arts show we are again a district that needs great improvement, but on the right track,” says Superintendent Dr. Bolgen Vargas.

Vargas says truancy remains one of the biggest challenges for the district.
