Local 10-year-old rallies community

Henrietta, N.Y. - The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America has a one-of-a-kind ambassador.

10-year old Clara Burley.

Not only is she battling Crohn's disease with a healthy dose of optimism, she and her family organized a barbecue benefit in Henrietta Sunday afternoon to raise money for the foundation.

"All these doctors who are helping us and the foundation raising money and trying to find a cure, it's really important to get more people to know about it so we can do more with that," said an articule Burley.

Her brother Jack shares her passion.

"It's really special to me because she has a lot of hard times and it's hard but she can always get through it."

The event raised about $2,200 for the foundation Sunday.

The Burleys are encouraging the community to help support the foundation through the upcoming Take Steps for Crohn's & Colitis Walk on September 20th. For more info on the event, click here.
