Pain is gone, no cancer evidence for Kelly

Buffalo, N.Y. - The pain Jim Kelly was once experiencing is now gone, and there is no evidence of his cancer, according to the NFL Hall of Famer's doctors.

They released at Doctors at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan said treatments that started three months
ago have "completely eliminated Mr. Kelly's pain, and his level of function has essentially returned to normal."

Kelly was evaluated Tuesday at the New York Head & Neck Institute at Lenox Hill Hospital, three months after completing radation and chemotherapy there.

Doctors went on to say that "on physical examination, there is no evidence of the cancer."

Over the coming week, a series of tests will be performed to determine if any further treatment will be necessary.
