Mom arrested after child is found

Rochester, N.Y. 23-year-old Jeannie Lowe was arrested after police found her missing 3-year-old boy on Sunday.

According to court paperwork, police say Lowe made no effort to contact authorities for several hours after she knew her child had gone missing.

The 3-year-old has been taken away from Lowe and is currently being taken care of by Child Protective Services. Lowe has been charged with child endangerment.

Lowes mother, the 3-year-olds grandmother told police her daughter had been playing video games while the child was missing, something Lowe didnt deny during an interview with 13WHAM News, where she also said she had fallen asleep.

Lowe told 13WHAM News she was under the impression that the 3 year old was with his grandmother, and was unaware he was missing.

The child was found several hours later on Wilder Street, roaming from house to house.

Several people in the neighborhood tried to ask the 3-year-old who his parents were, but he didnt answer, prompting someone to call police to report finding a boy wandering the neighborhood.

Im not a dead-beat mom, Lowe said. I just want to see my babythis is the longest Ive been without my son.

Lowe says she will soon take parenting classes as a result of this.

Its not yet clear when Lowe will be able to contact her son.
