Ferguson vigil held in Rochester

Rochester, N.Y. – Dozens attended a vigil Thursday night in Washington Square Park.

An activist blogger is urging cities throughout the country to hold vigils in solidarity with those in Ferguson, Missouri.

One man brought his 7-year-old son to the vigil.

“We wanted to show Adam what’s going on in the world and that it’s not always a safe and happy place and it’s important to see that, I think,” says Chris Homan.

“We may not have these instanced as big as they do in Ferguson, but you know what, maybe we can enact change on a local level,” says Kelly Scott, a city resident and organizer.
