Daystar celebrates "moving up"

Brighton, N.Y. - Daystar celebrated 30 of its students Wednesday in a "moving up" ceremony.

The respite program helps children, under the age of five, who have life-threatening medical conditions and developmental disabilities.

Both children and parents were celebrating.

"This is a celebration of our families too, who support their children through all of these milestones," says Kim Condon, executive director of Daystar. "This is a big moment for them because they work so hard all year round on their developmental skills."

Daystar says it has quadrupled the number of children it serves over the last year.
