Calling hours held for Ward

Boonville, N.Y. -- Calling hours were held Wednesday for Kevin Ward, Jr. He was struck and killed by NASCAR driver, Tony Stewart Saturday.

Ward started driving go-karts when he was four-years-old and continued to move up in the racing circuit.

A community came out to show their support for the Ward family and pay their respects.

His father, Kevin Ward, Sr., told the Syracuse Post Standard Monday that other drivers saw Kevin walking on the track and "apparently Tony Stewart was the only one driving out there who didn't see [Kevin]."

He went on to say, "I think the reason he probably got out of that car is to put him into the wall. He was definitely put into the wall."

A funeral will be held Thursday.
