Split decision in bid-rigging case

A judge has issued a split decision in the public corruption case against the husband of Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks.

According to a court order obtained by 13WHAM, one criminal charge against Robert Wiesner has been permanently dismissed.

However, the court order allows the state attorney generals office to re-present evidence to a new grand jury on a second charge.

Wiesner and three other men are accused of bid-rigging in awarding two taxpayer funded county contracts.

The charges came under scrutiny from the court because the prosecutor did not let Wiesner testify before the grand jury.
