Why is the CDC in Monroe County?

Greece, N.Y. CDC trailers were spotted along West Ridge Road in Greece.

13WHAM News contacted a spokesperson with the CDC who said their visit is not related to Ebola.

They said theyre in town for a study that has been ongoing since the 1960s.

Monroe County is one of 15 counties randomly selected for the study. CDC employees are knocking on doors, surveying people about their health and nutrition.

Over 500 people in Monroe County have been randomly selected for this survey. 7,000 will be surveyed nationwide. The CDC will be in Rochester until the end of the month.
