Race honors Webster native killed by gunfire

Webster, N.Y. - Family, friends and those attracted to the fundraiser's mission gathered Saturday to honor a Webster native, killed in a drive-by shooting in St. Louis this year.

Nicholas Kapusniak, 20, was studying at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in March. One night, while at a backyard party, a car drove up, with a passenger firing off shots.

Kapusniak died from gunshot wounds. His killer was never caught.

At the Webster Parks & Rec Center Saturday, a 5K run was held to raise money for CrimeStoppers in Rochester and St. Louis.

Organizers tell 13WHAM that the event brought in $6,000 from sponsorships and registrations alone.

Kapusniak lived in Webster before moving to St. Louis, where he was an aspiring pharmacist.
