Fighting for Sheri

Rochester, N.Y. - Sheri Delmonte Maloney said her four children are her life and the reason she keeps fighting the cancer that has now spread to her liver and abdomen.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 31 and has been fighting for six years.

She now has Stage 4 Cancer and says a recent cancer trial at Roswell Cancer Center in Buffalo did not work. She said her last hope is an experimental treatment available in Germany.

The treatment costs $30,000 and is not covered by insurance. But when friends heard that it might help Sheri, they took to Facebook to start a campaign to raise money to help her fight the cancer and continue her fight to live.

In just three weeks, they raised $10,000 of the $30,000 needed to get her to Germany.

They will also hold a fundraiser on September 13 at Wall Street, to help her get the money she needs to get that treatment.

Friends include 98 PXY’s Scott Spezzano and his wife Jill. Scott said he lost his mother to pancreatic cancer last year and wanted to help Sheri anyway he could.

Jill Spezzano grew up with Sheri and said she is so proud of her friends and all of the people who are fighting for her.
She said she’s a great friend and a great mother.

Sheri’s brother, Angelo, said he would do anything for his sister. He got emotional talking about how good she is to her four children and how she would do anything for anyone else.

Katie Ferrari said Sheri is someone who is worth fighting for. Friends said this campaign has touched so many people’s hearts. That’s why strangers are donating to help get Sheri to Germany.
