New stadium rules at Ralph Wilson

Buffalo, N.Y. - Fans heading to Ralph Wilson Stadium to see the Bills play should be prepared for some changes.

The Bills kick off their home preseason action on Friday against the Minnesota Vikings, and there will be some new rules in place.

The first is a crackdown on binge drinking in all of the stadium lots meaning no kegs, funnels, or glass bottles are allowed.

There is also a new open container law for the streets of Orchard Park surrounding the stadium. No open alcohol in cans, bottles, or cups are allowed.

There are also changes at the gates of the stadium itself. There is no longer any smoking or drinking in line.

But probably the biggest new rule will effect the female fans.

Under the new rules, no large purses or bags are allowed in. From now on, bags must have a clear exterior, about the size of a gallon ziploc bag, so all the items are visible.

These rules will all take effect starting this Friday.

Some of these are league rules, others from the Bills.

Bills and law enforcement officials say the changes are all in the name of safety.
