Report: Bills set to add QB Kyle Orton

The Bills are reportedly primed to add another backup quarterback to the mix in Buffalo.

But this one's different. He's proven he has what it takes to succeed at the position in the NFL.

The Bills and Kyle Orton are close to a contract agreement. The deal was first reported by James Walker of ESPN.

Orton has spent parts of his nine NFL career with four different teams; the Bears, Broncos, Chiefs, and most recently the Cowboys. Orton nearly led Dallas to a playoff berth in a week 17 tilt with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Orton had some success as a starter in the NFL, especially during his two years in Denver, but he has long been one of the most reliable backups in the league. His arrival should help stabililze the position behind EJ Manuel, and possibly provide some competition for the starting job if EJ continues to struggle into the regular season.
