ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHAM) -- His moves have 5 million views and counting. A Rochester airport worker's tarmac performance has turned him into a viral sensation.

It wasn’t your typical departure.

"I just add a little spin to it. I call it the Kyran twist,” said Kyran Ashford.

Ashford wouldn't have it any other way.

"Just the personality behind it, it's always been me for years. It's always been me,” he said.

The Rochester airport worker turning the tarmac into a dance floor last Friday. A passenger aboard a Southwest flight capturing it all on camera and sharing it on Facebook. You could say it's taking off.

"It just skyrocketed through the roof so by the time I was aware of the video it was closing in on a million views,” said Ashford.

It’s over 5 million views now. Ashford says he's sky high with the reaction.

"My phone has been off the hook. My mom called me like 'baby you're on the news!' My family, my friends even my co-workers are like what's going on?" he said.

Ashford may look familiar. He's typically welcoming and entertaining passengers at the gate. He even has his own YouTube page. He lives by a simple motto and tries to share that with others.

"I was always taught and trained to make the best out of each and every day that you're given,” he said.
