What's Going Around - Week of April 1, 2018
(WHAM) - Here is what's going around for the week of April 2, 2018.
Dr. David Carlson from UR Medicine Urgent Care in Farmington is treating viral upper respiratory infections with coughs and stuffy/runny noses.
Dr. Carlson reminds his patients that these viral infections are indeed contagious and paying attention to hand washing can slow their spread.
Dr. Carolyn Stern from UR Medicine Urgent Care in Henrietta is treating colds and allergies.
Allergies usually come with itchy, watery and sometimes irritated eyes, as well as a runny nose.
Dr. Stern said colds can have a cough that starts a few days and can last for up to three weeks. As long as you do not have trouble breathing or have a fever, the cough will go away on its own.
Your doctor or healthcare provider can give you the best advice.
