(WHAM) - Here is what's going around for the week of December 2, 2018.

Dr. David Carlson from UR Medicine Urgent Care in Newark has been treating upset stomachs.

Dr. Carlson said after a stomach virus hits, taking sips of clear liquids is the best way to "reboot" the digestive process. From there, slowly advance to toast, crackers, or rice if liquids are being tolerated.

Dr. Carolyn Stern from UR Medicine Urgent Care in Greece is seeing strep throat.

Dr. Stern said to prevent the spread, patients should teach their children to wash their hands often, singing the alphabet song through twice is long enough. They should also know not to share cups or utensils.

Parents can also clean any plastic toys with a bleach solution - one part bleach and nine parts water.

As always, your doctor or primary care provider can give you the best advice.
