What's Going Around - Week of June 7, 2018
(WHAM) - Here is what's going around for the week of June 3, 2018.
Dr. David Carlson from UR Medicine Urgent Care in Farmington is treating stomach viruses.
Dr. Carlson said the viruses usually go away within a day or two. Patients can avoid spreading them by using careful hand washing and by cleaning all drinking glasses.
Angie Fenton from UR Medicine Urgent Care in Henrietta is seeing poison ivy rashes.
Fenton said patients should avoid itching the infected area and apply calamine lotion as needed. Patients can help to prevent the oils that cause the rash by wearing clothes that cover your skin when working or playing outside. Benadryl can also help with itching.
Your doctor or healthcare provider can give you the best advice.
