What's Going Around - Week of March 18, 2018
(WHAM) - Here is what's going around for the week of March 18, 2018.
Dr. David Carlson of UR Medicine Urgent Care in Farmington is seeing viral upper respiratory infections.
Dr. Carlson said although the stuffy and runny nose can be uncomfortable, patients should keep in mind that they are usually self-limited and get better in 7-10 days.
Since the symptoms are caused by a virus, anti-biotics do not help.
Dr. Carolyn Stern from UR Medicine Urgent Care in Henrietta is seeing allergies, upset stomachs and pink eye - as well as patients who have fallen on ice.
Dr. Stern warns patients to remember, when it is warm during the day and snow melts, that snow freezes at night and becomes ice. Try not to rush and be sure to pay attention to where you are walking, and make sure you have good lighting around your home and driveway.
Your doctor or healthcare provider can give you the best advice.
