What's Going Around - Week of May 6, 2018
(WHAM) - Here is what's going around for the week of May 6, 2018.
Angie Fenton from UR Medicine Urgent Care in Henrietta has been treating allergies.
To prevent or lessen allergy symptoms, Fenton recommends showering and washing your hair at night to prevent pollen from becoming trapped in your hair.
Fenton also recommends wearing a mask when in the garden or mowing your lawn. An N-95 mask works best.
Dr. David Carlson from UR Medicine in Newark is seeing upper respiratory infections.
Symptoms of these infections include cough, congestion and scratchy throats.
Dr. Carlson said conservative symptomatic treatments and waiting for the illness to run its course is your best option.
Your doctor or healthcare provider can give you the best advice.
