What's Going Around - Week of November 12, 2017
(WHAM) - Here is what's going around for the week of November 12, 2017.
Dr. Matthew Capuano with UR Medicine Urgent Care in Penfield is treating cases of croup.
Dr. Capuano says rest, hydration and good hand hygiene prevents the transmission. When traveling, be sure to bring children's analgesics in case of pain or fever.
Dr. Carolyn Stern with UR Medicine Urgent Care in Henrietta has been seeing tick bites.
Dr. Stern says ticks are still out in abundance; it hasn't been cold enough yet to get rid of them. Check your pets for ticks, even if you have applied repellants. As soon as you find a tick, try to remember where and when you may have been exposed. This will help your doctor to know if you need treatment to prevent Lyme disease.
As always, your own doctor or healthcare provider can give you the best health advice.
