(WHAM) - Two men were found dead inside a car on Thurston Road near Brooks Avenue early Wednesday morning.

Rochester Police say they responded to a call that came in around 1:15 a.m.

Police say a woman near the scene was also shot. She is in critical condition, but is stable.

The intersection of Thurston Road and Brooks Avenue was closed for nearly ten hours and was reopened to traffic at 11 a.m.

Like many in the neighborhood, citizen Patricia Evans says she's heartbroken by the violence.

"I'm just, I'm hurt," she said. "You know, that we're losing our men."

She was woken up in the middle of the night by the gunshots.

"I said, 'Oh Lord,' and I just kept praying," she said. "And I asked the Lord not to be no one I knew."

"I certainly understand the concern of people that live in this area," said Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli. "Whenever anything like this happens, we want to assure them we are on it now, and we will be in this neighborhood, and we will do everything we can and hopefully identify the people who did this and bring them to justice."

This is a developing story. 13WHAM will have updates on-air and online.
